At Itera Mobility Engineering, we are currently seeking a PD Engineer (Interior Trim-Covering) to address upcoming requirements in the European automotive sector.

In this role, the selected candidate will collaborate closely with a leading automotive supplier, capitalizing on their specialized knowledge to provide extensive support and conduct feasibility analyses for new production parts, particularly those related to the covering and wrapping processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute body interior parts wrapping and covering technologies for components such as IP, console, door trim panels, and pillars
  • Utilize tools and equipment proficiently in edge folding, forming, punching, foaming, lamination, and mechanical press operations.
  • Promote and adhere to facility and manufacturing safety, environmental, and ergonomic protocols.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes and machinery to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in tooling and equipment validation throughout program and series processes.
  • Contribute to the Team Sign-off process for product validation.
  • Monitor prototype manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.Analyze, develop, and validate process modifications to optimize performance.
  • Ensure the application of process standards from project initiation to completion.Provide feedback and lessons learned to the technical center to enhance the product database.
  • Perform all necessary tasks to maintain and ensure the proper functioning of the working area/department.

Qualification & Experience :

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in Automotive sector.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Industrial or Design engineering.
  •  Previous experience working with plastic and injection parts.
  • Demonstrable experience in wrapping and covering processes.
  • Proficiency in Core Tools such as FMEA, SPC, APQP, Time Studies, and Machine Dimensioning.
  • Final customer service and orientation, project reporting and tasks follow up
  • Fluent communication, reporting skills
  • Travel availability
  • Fluent in English, German would be an asset
  • Location: Remote,Spain
